I was surprised and delighted to be asked by Dr. Deirdre O’Mahony to contribute a poster to the Teagasc and Galway County Council Farming and County Life 1916-2016 event, which seeks to commemorate the 100th year of Ireland’s Rising and to reflect on developments in farming and country life across Ireland over the last century.

“Director of Teagasc, Professor Gerry Boyle said: “We have chosen to host this major event at the historic site of Mellow’s Agricultural Campus in Athenry due to its close association with The Rising in County Galway. Liam Mellows, who was the leader of the Rising in Galway, as well as over 500 volunteers, camped at the Agricultural College farmyard during the Rising. We are delighted to be partnering with Galway County Council for the event.”
