As featured in The Irish Times (Woodworth, 2020), The Hollywood Forest Story eBook is an illustrated account of the development and main method stages of my eco-social art practice that created The Hollywood Forest Story and developed through my blogging practice.

The eBook details how I use action research as an accessible ecologically-orientated methodology for my work.

I apply this methodology to others’ eco-social art practice in my accompanying PhD by Creative Practice – The Ecological Turn: Living Well with Forests to Articulate Eco-Social Art Practices Using a Guattari Ecosophy and Action Research Framework (2018): see link below.

My research confirms that action research identifies a cycle of five critical method stages (Reason et al, 2009) in effective eco-social art practices (Fitzgerald, 2018).

Action Research is an accessible guide to explain situated, a multi-faceted eco-social (ecological) art practice that
involves art and non-art activities. For those new to the art and ecology field, action research can help visualise and guide the development and maintenance of these long-term social enquiries.

The Hollywood Forest Story eBook is available for free download from iTunes (to play on your iPad, iBook or iMac)

The text and audio-visual material in this eBook reflect the central creative practice of blogging for this eco-social practice, from my blog http://www.hollywoodforest.com. My blog follows the ongoing (since 2008) transformation of a monoculture tree plantation into a permanent, mixed species forest following new-to-Ireland Close-to-Nature continuous cover forestry practices.
