transversal practice

I explore new ideas and practices for eco-social well being.
In my creative practice, I bring art and non-art practices (science, ecology, new ecoforestry practices) together to explore an alternative to unsustainable clearfell monoculture forestry.
Undertaking an art practice-led PhD in recent years, I have developed a guiding theory-method framework to improve understanding of the value and potential of long-term eco-social art practices that are embedded in communities.
I am also developing cultural policy research to foster public awareness that the art sector has a key role to engage communities in sustainable living. At an international cultural policy level, UNESCO, IFACCA and others recognise culture is the under-acknowledged 4th pillar to promote sustainability. Culture has immense social power to engage communities in sustainability that is unavailable to science.
