103.2 Dublin City FM

Yesterday at 07:00  · On the Green Room at 9am, Megan Best chats to Cathy Fitzgerald, PhD by Creative Practice, from Cathy Fitzgerald. Haumea’s ecoart page about the importance of ecoliteracy for arts practitioners and creative professionals. We’ll also discuss her work in advocating for ecocide law and the Earth Charter.

I was so delighted to talk with Megan yesterday on her radio programme. We covered a lot in the half hour and with Megan’s long experience in the sustainability area she made it easy for me to talk about my work. Thanks so much Megan 🙂

Any comments are welcome, please post below.

Also, I have just announced my next Haumea Online 7-week Essential Course, beginning the 5 Jan. Click for info and how to sign up here (places are limited and filling fast)

Me and Miffy Green Super Heroine

The Green Room 9am Saturday, Dublin City FM

Society faces an increasingly uncertain future – climate change, biodiversity loss, extreme pollution, rising poverty and inequality – these are the challenges we collectively face. In response to our challenges we need new thinking and vision. The Green Room will be a space for creative conversation in a time of disruption, transition and transformation. Each week Megan Best invites a cultural sector leader – be that arts, music, theatre or food, to look at our cultural landscapes through a new lens. Through celebrating their efforts towards social and environmental sustainability, we can use our culture, customs and beliefs to inspire individual and collective change.

Megan works with arts practices, events and festivals in the realm of sustainability and circularity, and runs her own upcycled clothing brand. She is currently finalising an MSc in Environmental Sustainability with UCD. See other past programmes here

PS shortly after the interview the doorbell rang with the postman delivering a large cardboard box. Inside I was delighted to find my sister in NZ had sent me an early Christmas present – the new eco-heroine Miffy– with mask, green cape with leaves! Her placard with a shamrock on it – says ‘Save Our Planet’. So here’s me and Miffy Green Compassion Super-heroine after we just met 🙂 (This Miffy is a beautifully made limited edition by Emmy Eves, celebrates 65yrs of Miffy by the legendary late Dutch Designer Dick Bruna.
